REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services Department or their designee
STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The Behavioral Health Services Department (BHS) seeks to develop a talent pool of current BHS School Psychologists to provide compensatory counseling services and psychological assessments outside of the school day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The BHS School Psychologists will need to be trained in mental health counseling. They will be responsible for:
- Schedule counseling sessions with the parent and student
- Provide in-person or virtual counseling to individual students based on their IEPs
- Track services given in Edplan and complete other data requests regarding the services when asked
- Complete IEP progress reports when requested
The BHS School Psychologists will need to be trained in psychological assessments. They will be responsible for:
- Schedule the evaluation with the parent
- Complete psychological assessments to students
- Write and upload the psychological assessment into Edplan
- Present findings at the IEP meeting
TERMS:
- OSS expects a minimum of 2-4 hours and a maximum of 20 hours weekly.
- As approved by the Deputy Chief of Services or their designee, the Psychologist can be compensated for travel to and from the location where the services are provided. This time will be compensated at the BTU hourly rate.
- The provider is responsible for completing all documentation as expected. This work will be compensated at the BTU hourly rate at an additional 15 minutes for every hour of service provided to account for associated administrative tasks.
- All work must be completed outside the regular workday.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- Currently working in Boston Public Schools;
- Appropriate school psychologist licensure
