Operations Coordinator (Managerial Tier B)
Role Overview
The Mattahunt Elementary School is seeking an Operations Coordinator. The Operations is responsible for the day-to-day tasks that ensure smooth operation of a school day at a large, complex school with multiple specialized programs. Additionally, the coordinator will foster partnerships and collaboration with families, community members and organizations.

Operations:
- In conjunction with school leadership team, ensure daily operations, schedule, and transitions are smooth and support a joyful, equitable learning environment
- Support school-wide PBIS initiative, Mattahunt WISE, through ensuring physical materials are always available and organized for teachers and students
- Field Trip coordination and planning for the elementary school
- In collaboration with school leadership, manage supply requisitions, stipends, and management of school-wide materials
- Work with all staff and students to design and implement school wide systems (i.e. entry, dismissal, transitions, lunch, recess, community meetings etc.) aligned to the vision for school culture Support transition from dismissal to after school program, supporting execution of snack (collaborate with YMCA program director & extracurricular clubs)
- Create and manage inventory of school’s curricular materials and technology
- Support with morning coverage plans when educators are absent
- Serve as school Aspen facilitator, registar, and support onboarding new students
- Manage and supervise lunch monitors and lunch/recess duties for school support staff
- Respond to operational requests from staff, including maintenance of supply closet and staff supply requests Update & manage work orders in Asset Essentials, reaching out to necessary parties for updates & next steps (custodians, Planning & Engineering staff)
- Ensure management of facilities through School Dude platform
- Support coordination of ACCESS, MCAS, school-wide testing
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Principal
Qualifications
- Associates degree with experience working with inner city youth in urban setting
- 3+ years of full-time work experience; 1-3 years experience preferably in an education or non-profit related organization
- Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the Umana’s mission, core values and dual language & special education programs
- Commitment to the success of all Mattahunt students
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions Page 2 of 2
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
- Willingness to work autonomously, collaboratively, and/or under the direction of senior staff, as needed
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of social media platforms/tools and emerging new media
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Drive Suite
- Comfort and familiarity with student information databases (Aspen, SIS, etc)
This position is subject to the City of Boston Residency ordinance Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.
School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
