Description

This position is an anticipated vacancy. It is expected to be vacant 12/9/24. However, the current incumbent has a right to rescind their retirement, leave, or resignation up until the day of the expected vacancy date. Your hire will not be confirmed until the position is vacated, and you may start the year as a Long-Term Substitute if the position does not become vacant by the start of the school year.

 

The Registrar is responsible for registering, discharging, and scheduling students and maintaining all student records. He/she will ensure that all students attending the school are appropriately enrolled and assigned and that complete and accurate records of assignment, achievement, and attendance exist for all students.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily attendance of students.
  • Assists in implementing the new computerized attendance system from teacher scanner sheets.
  • Responsible for intake procedures for all students.
  • Responsible for the development of the master schedule and all programming.
  • Maintains all student records and related communication.
  • Develops computer procedures and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Headmaster

 

Qualifications Required

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  2. Experience in scheduling staff and students.
  3. MA DESE Secondary Teacher License at the appropriate grade level.
  4. Excellent computer skills and ability to develop computer reports.
  5. Ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Have knowledge of Nordex and other scheduling software.
  8. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

 

Qualification-Preferred

  1. Masters Degree.
  2. Experience in an urban school setting.
  3. BPS values linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring added value to the classroom, school, and district culture and diversity. BPS is particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali.

The start and end times of BPS schools vary, as do the lengths of the school day. Some BPS schools have a longer school day through the "Schedule A" Expanded Learning Time (ELT) agreement.
