Description:

Project PROVIDE: Partnership for Readiness to Offer high quality and Valuable Interventions in Diverse Educational is a federal grant that BPS received  to increase the number of diverse, highly qualified mental health staff that work in BPS while also improving the technical skills and supervisory skills of the current mental health workforce that works in BPS or with BPS students. 

 

Job Summary

Interns will work under the direct supervision of certified School Psychologists/ Social Workers and School Counselors who provide prevention and intervention services to all students with emphasis on consultation, assessment, counseling services, and culturally competent practice.  Supervision will be provided by the School Psychologists/ Social Workers and School Counselors assigned to the buildings for activities such as assessment and counseling. Interns will enhance their skills in all of these areas, including leadership and facilitation of evidence-based prevention and intervention services. 

 

Job Qualifications & Skills

  • Internship applicants must be enrolled in school psychology, social worker or school counseling graduate programs. Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Essential features of Comprehensive Behavioral Health Model (CBHM)  
  • Data collection systems, data analysis and data-based problem solving and decision making, fluency with data collection tools
  • Evidence-based practices of classroom instruction, management, and interventions
  • Other qualifications as deemed necessary

General Responsibilities

  • Complete required data & evaluation requests
  • Attend required professional development 
  • Maintain good standing in your university 

Job Stipend:  $12,499

This will be a combined paid/unpaid internship that will run from 9/1/23 - 6/20/24.  Students will be paid $24.24 per hour until they reach the stipend total of $12,499 and then will be unpaid for the remainder of the school year.

Interested candidates must currently be accepted graduate students who are working in BPS and have been accepted as Project PROVIDE Interns.
