Description

This is a new Travel SPED Support Clerk position.  Clerks will be required to travel to different schools on a weekly basis to cover SPED Support Clerk vacancies as directed by the SPED Clerk Supervisor.  Due to travel, an additional $1000 will be added to the salary of this position.

Special Education

 

Support Clerk - Central Office

 

Reporting times: 8AM - 2PM or 9AM - 3PM

 

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Special Education Department, the clerk will support Central Offices in their adherence to the regulatory requirements associated with Special Education laws and regulations.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Duties:

1. Ability to use current technology to support the Special Education Team process

by:

  • Organizing, maintaining, tracking, copying & transferring of student records when necessary.
  • Limited Data entry and retrieval of information from SEIMS system as requested by the Team Facilitator
  • Assist with obtaining parent/ guardian signatures.
  • Assist with scheduling of Team meetings and maintenance of ETF calendar
  • Assist ETF with adherence to regulatory requirements as requested by ETF and/or Supervisor

2. Good communication skills both verbal and written to support parents, outside agencies, BPS departments, Non-BPS personnel, etc.

3. Maintain office supplies

4. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.

5 . Assist in facilitating the work of the ETF

6. Perform related duties of a similar nature as requested by the Special Education Compliance Department which are commensurate with job description.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, e-mail and Intranet and Internet skills
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Ability to support a number of schools on a weekly basis as directed by the Special
  • Education Compliance Department.
