Reports To: EdTech Operations Manager

 

General Description and Goals:

 

As a District Registrar Service Representative working in the Office of Instructional and Information Technology (OIIT), the main goal is to maintain student grading records in the Student Information System (SIS), and provide first line IT support through the HelpDesk.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains the district grading calendar to ensure compliance with relevant policies and contracts.
  • Coordinates the opening and closing of grading windows (term and progress) and communicates deadlines to schools
  • Tracks grade entry and identifies/supports any issues
  • Assists with the school scheduling process for the purpose of maintaining accurate and complete schedules
  • Monitors for grading issues or discrepancies and communicates to leadership as necessary
  • Works with the Director of Records Management to maintain accurate historical transcript records
  • Provides Service Desk support and serve as the front line support for the SIS
  • Troubleshoots and resolves IT related user problems at all levels
  • Supports IT planning in schools and departments, specifically around the use of data systems and applications.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments
  • Assist with school master schedule building
  • Work with internal and external partners, contractors, and vendors to provide services.
  • Participate in IT operational planning within the unit and other OIIT staff
  • Participate in professional development activities related to job function
  • Perform other related duties as requested by Manager

Qualifications - Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing IT customer support to a large user base.
  • Worked with a Student Information System.
  • Knowledge of overall functions of a large IT department.
  • Able to be creative to find troubleshooting techniques to get to the root of the issue
  • Expertise in the latest customer service principles and practices.
  • Problem solving skills and patience to repeatedly instruct people on the steps to take to solve computer problems.
  • Ability to accept direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Establish good relationships with fellow staff members.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment 

Qualifications - Preferred:

  • BA/BS MIS, Computer Science or related field.  
  • Additional course work or certificates in related area.
  • Proficiency in IT planning and project management.
  • Experience with ticketing system

 

TERMS:  Managerial, Tier C; City of Boston Residency required.
