The Mission Hill school is seeking a music teacher. Mission Hill is a Pilot school that is progressive, inclusive and runs democratically. All teachers are expected to see students as their own and to collaborate with colleagues in the best interest of students and their families.This position will entail working with students pre-k to grade 8, attending several weekly meetings with colleagues, planning guest presenters, teaching songs that are connected to our school wide curricular themes, and producing an annual concert. We are seeking candidates who have experience teaching students of all learning, physical, language and behavioral abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Music (All Levels).
- Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and "Highly Qualified" according to NCLB.
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools as outlined above.
- Education: Bachelors degree
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
